Things I Like: Skin, Hair, Body, Mind

Skin

St. Ives Apricot Scrub has been a staple in my skin care routine for a long time. Semi-recently, they released a version of this product for oily or acne prone skin. Love it.

Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm tingles. It makes your lips soft and moisturized without any color or flavor. They say it's their most popular product. I know why.

Hair

Greg Juice is a good alternative for those who are not able to use carrier oils in their hair. Works great for my super dry hair. Smells great too.

Curls Asian Hair Tea Conditioner is great for no-pooers. Makes combing through even super coily hair easy...with a wide toothed comb, in sections, while sopping wet, with the conditioner in it of course. A good start for easier styling.

Body

I love Reed's Ginger Brew. It's one of my favorite "foods." I get my four packs at Whole Foods, and occassionally singles from specialty shops and cafes. It's spicy stuff, with 17 to 25 grams of fresh ginger per bottle.

Raindrop Cafe, formerly Amazon Cafe. Mango Mania Smoothie, formerly Tropical Passion Smoothie. Large, dairy free, plus energy boost. Would drink them every day if I could work out a $35/week smoothie budget. The smoothie that eats like a meal.

Mind

Start Where You Are: A Guide to Compassionate Living, by Pema Chodron. This book always seems to bring me new insight and mental peace. Refreshing.

I bought that book back when I was battling some real beasts at work. I was ready to hurt someone and needed to start exactly where I was because there was no way I could go from angry B to saint overnight. Anger by Thich Nhat Hahn too. Learning to use compassion (or at least trying to) goes a long way.

Qusan, I agree! This book has been so helpful to me, and really gotten me through some tough spots. A lot of times I will just open it to a random spot and it's just what I need at the time.
