Attack of the Hair Touchers!

I just wanted to quickly report that my head got grabbed two times within the past two days.

Hair Toucher #1 was my cousin from Georgia, in town visiting. She said, "it's soft..."

Hair Toucher #2 was a guy I met in a coffee shop last week. Today he grabbed my head and said "I've been wanting to do that."

Warning: Wearing the wash n grow fro may lead to Hair Toucher Attacks! Be careful out there...

I totally know that feeling. But people just can't help it! And it smells good...

My sister put some shea butter up to her nose and said, "That smells like Black people!" hahahha WTF!

I know exactly what you mean! Whenever I wash my hair and pull it back in one, everyone feels the need to caress my "poof," especially when it was a lot longer. I'm happy that i've come across your blog... i'm definitely adding it to my favorites so that I can check in frequently!

I BCed in 2001... by 2002/3, I had a lovely head of curly fro'd out hair that people found IMPOSSIBLE to keep their hands off of. I felt extrodinairily resentful of the fact that people (and specifically non-black people) felt ENTITLED to touch (and by touch I mean "pet") my hair. I am not a person who does well with invasions of personal space, and I found this highly offensive. My non-black co-workers, however, thought it was hilarious and made a cartoon of me attacking someone for petting me. My personal struggle with other people's insensitivity became an office joke. :-/ Thankfully, no one pets me anymore...
